Humor is a powerful tool. We use it in every day life to make us laugh, to diffuse situations, to bring some light to hard times. And kids are no exception. Besides, kids laugh a lot more than adults, and they want to read books that make them laugh. There’s a reason Dog Man and the like are big hits. They encourage kids to read, to be captivated by a series, and have a good laugh while doing so.

When to Use Humor

If you’re setting out to write a funny book then of course, you’re going to look for ways to make your words cause chortles galore. But even if you’re writing a more serious subject, humor can be layered into your story. Kids don’t want to read serious facts or hard-hitting fiction without some respite.
